Association of the Miraculous Medal
A Disciple of Sharing God's Gifts

“The relationships Jesus forms with the people who approach him manifest something entirely unique and unrepeatable. The signs he works, especially in favor of sinners, the poor, the marginalized, the sick, and the suffering, are all meant to teach mercy.  Everything in him speaks of mercy. Nothing in him is devoid of compassion."  — Pope Francis

The Christian life is a discipleship in mercy.  Jesus teaches us how to show loving kindness, compassion, and forbearance to those who long for his love.

As you become more like Christ in this extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, I encourage you to consider two important acts of preparation.

The first is a matter of getting your soul ready to meet Jesus.  If it has been more than a year since your last confession, take time soon to receive God’s loving mercy in the sacrament of Reconciliation.

Similarly, if you or a loved one are struggling with a chronic illness, preparing for a major surgery, or are in danger of death, request from your priest the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

God’s grace will give you peace and strength, helping you to trust that “the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed” (Romans 8:18).

The second act of preparation is a matter of getting your earthly gifts ready.  If you have not yet prepared a legal will, it is extremely important that you do so.  Our brochure “5 Steps for a Successful Will Plan” contains information on how a will can protect your assets and provide for the needs of future generations.  To request this brochure, call 1-800-264-6279 or email us at ammfather@amm.org.

When you receive your brochure and read it, I ask that you prayerfully consider naming the Association of the Miraculous Medal as a beneficiary in your will, retirement investments, life insurance, and living trust. In doing so, you can help increase devotion to Mary for many years to come.

Your gift is an expression of your values, priorities, and gratitude for God’s blessings in your life.  By giving, you are honoring God, his Blessed Mother, and his divine Son.

To make this multi-generational gift to our Lady’s Association, please call 1-800-264-6279 and ask for Krista, Sherry, or Pat.

I don’t say it often enough, but “Thank you!”  On behalf of all of us here at the Shrine, I am grateful for the difference you are making in the lives of thousands of people seeking a closer relationship with Mary and her Son Jesus.

May our Lady of the Miraculous Medal obtain God’s graces for you and your loved ones.  Remember that your gifts touch the hearts of those most in need of our Lady’s love.

Sincerely yours in Jesus and Mary,

Fr. Kevin McCracken, C.M.
Spiritual Director
